One of the central functions of the A8619 is the protocol analyzer, which decodes and displays signaling information in real-time.  The protocol analyzer runs either stand-alone in monitor mode or in parallel with simulation and emulation applications.

Captured information can be stored and recorded for later analysis.  Signaling messages (PDUs) are presented according to the OSI 7 layer model and displayed in symbolic or hexadecimal form depending on user preference.  PDUs that do not conform to the specification are highlighted.
