Quad Port E1/T1 Active Interface Module

The Quad Port E1/T1 Active Interface Module provides access to G.703 compatible 2.048 Mbit/s and 1.544 Mbit/s signaling systems and is suitable for ISDN PRI and V5 interfaces as well as SS7 based networks (trunk networks, mobile networks, intelligent networks). There are two modes of operation:

• Mode SIM: Active Link Simulation
• Mode MON: Passive Link Monitoring

This Interface Module can process eight independent timeslots, corresponding to 4 bi-directional timeslots on a physical interface in both mode SIM and mode MON.  The timeslots have a default configuration of 64 kbits and can be configured for other requirements, such as 256 kbits for frame relay.  Up to two channels can be configured for SS7.

 

The E1/T1 interface module can be configured for all standard 2MBit interfaces, in particular

  • E1 (European/Asian 2 Mbps)
  • T1 (American 1.544 Mbps)
  • SS7 (MTP-2 support on-board)
  • CAS (non HDLC signaling)
  • BCS (TSMUX)

The quad port E1/T1 interface module supports 4 physical interfaces and can be software configured for the required mode of operation (E1, T1, SS7). T

 

 


Note: DTMF/R2 signaling is not supported in connection with CAS.
