Training

The A8619 is an advanced protocol test system and designed to be as easy-to-use as possible.  The technical area of protocol testing often requires knowledge of a wide-range of issues, such as network technology, problem identification and isolation and conformance tests.  We have designed a set of training seminars for this purpose that cover not only the basic operation of the A8619, but also its application in different areas of communications systems.

Our comprehensive training is available for all A8619 system configurations and application modules including test suites.  The training workshops take place at our training center in Stuttgart, which is equipped with reference interfaces and equipment.  We are also able to hold training course on-site by arrangement.

Installation and Commissioning

A8619 systems are shipped pre-configured and ready-to-run.  Typically the installation and commissioning procedure on arrival results in a number of questions, such as configuration of the system under test, connection and system configuration or operation.

For this reason we recommend our commissioning option, which guarantees the fastest way to take a protocol test system into operation.  During the commissioning procedure an A8619 engineer goes through the system configuration on-site with the responsible users to verify the shipment and provide a basic introduction to the system operation. 

ln particular the correct connection to the system/network under test can be ensured and compatibility issues with cables, connectors and signaling configuration resolved.  Although the A8619 is not unduly complex to configure and operate, it is our experience that these connections issues together with the complexity of the network issues often result in delays for first-time users.

Every A8619 Protocol Test System is automatically provided with a 24 month warrange in respect of hardware (with effect from 01.01.2002) and a 12 month software maintenance period, free of charge and includes the following:

• Customer Support Service
• Software Update Service
• Test Suite Update Service (if applicable)

Our test engineers are familiar with the requirements of the industry for carrying out conformance tests according to ISO 9001 and ISO 9646.  On request we offer a Conformance Test Service, resulting in a validation report suitable for certification procedures.  Typically this service is particularly relevant for the first time execution of a test suite, which results in a number of questions concerning interface specifications and detailed technical issues regarding the implementation status of the system under test (test object).

During such first time tests, advice and training are given to allow repeat tests to be carried later completely independently by the A8619 users.
